The UNCITRAL Academy, jointly organised by the Singapore Ministry of Law and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), comprises the UNCITRAL Academy Conference and the UNCITRAL Academy Capacity-Building Workshops from 30 August to 1 September 2022.

The Conference will be held in a hybrid format, with in-person attendance at Shangri-la Hotel, Singapore while the workshops will be fully virtual. Registration is free.

Natalie Morris-Sharma is Deputy Senior State Counsel in the international law department of Singapore’s Attorney-General’s Chambers. Prior to this, she served in various capacities, including Director of the International Legal Division of Singapore’s Ministry of Law and Legal Advisor to Singapore’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations. Ms Morris-Sharma has participated in and led several bilateral and multilateral negotiations. Amongst her roles at UNCITRAL was Chairperson of the Working Group that developed the Singapore Convention on Mediation.  She currently serves as the Rapporteur to the UNCITRAL Working Group on investor-State dispute settlement reform.  Ms Morris-Sharma has published on topics relating to international trade and investment law, law of the sea, the work of the International Law Commission, and treaty law.  She has lectured with the ASEAN Law Academy, amongst others, and serves as a counsellor of the American Society of International Law.  She is called to the bar in New York and Singapore.
